Permanent Laser Hair Removal

What areas do you treat?

We offer treatments for the lip and chin, face, underarms, arms, hands and feet, bikini, brazilian, legs, chest, and back.

Is it permanent?

Every individual’s hair grows at different rates. We treat at 4-6 week intervals to obtain optimum results. The result will be permanent hair reduction. As the skin replenishes itself, over the course of years, some hair may grow back as new hair follicles are produced, but it will never be as plentiful again.

How do I prepare for a treatment?

The area to be treated should be clean-shaven or freshly waxed before your treatment. It is also important that you avoid sun tanning prior to laser hair removal visits.

How does it work?

The laser generates a beam of intense, concentrated light that is directed through a small hand-held wand to the treatment site. The laser energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair causing selective damage to the follicle. The laser treats more than one hair at a time so we are able to treat large areas in a short period of time.

Will laser work on all hair colours?

The laser works on types of skin and hair colour. Remember, the laser is attracted to the dark pigment of the hair follicle.  Some of our patients have had success with lighter hair, although a greater number of treatments may be required.

How many treatments are needed?

Generally, a minimum of 6 treatments is required. Most clients will see fantastic results with between 6 and 10 treatments. These are generally given at 4-6 week intervals.

How will it feel?

Some areas of our body are more sensitive that others, resulting in a slight pinching sensation, but most of our patients have reported little or no discomfort. In fact many have said that waxing was far more painful.

Are there any side effects?

Short- term side effects may include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling which typically lasts less than an hour. Unlike some treatments, laser hair removal does not make hair grow back thicker, darker or faster.

What about after the treatment?

Wash normally with soap and water. Avoid sun exposure to the area. Avoid irritants such as products containing glycolic acid or Retin-A for 5-7 days. Hair remaining in the follicle will extrude typically within 2-3 weeks after the treatment. Do not pluck the hair from the follicle. If needed, it is okay to shave after 1 week.
